But here’s the deal: Public streets are for everyone. / Cones and garbage cans don’t double as personal “Reserved” signs. / Blocking off parking isn’t just inconsiderate — it’s not allowed. / And remember: garbage cans should only be placed at the curb the night before or the day of your scheduled pickup — not to save parking spots. Think of it this way: cones belong at construction sites, and garbage cans belong at the curb on trash day — not in the middle of the street guarding your favorite space. Let’s share the roadway fairly and keep things safe (and neighborly).

Patricia Whitney Citrino Alva: I used to live in the avenues. The garage was too small to put a full-size car in it. The driveway only fits one car.  The neighbors all kept to the front of their own house. Sometimes if they had friends over, they would park in front of our house. That was fine. What got me upset was when somebody would park in front of our house, get out of their car, get their suitcases out of the trunk. Then they would get into an Uber and obviously on their way to the airport!  🤬

Patrick Fitzgerald: I will be sure to do my civic duty and report any parked cars that don’t have their wheels curbed, have limousines tint on the windows, are not registered, parked too far from the curb, are encroaching on the driveway, or are too close to the intersection which is in violation of the “daylighting”.
